I have been a teacher on Outschool since 2020 and I teach on 2 additional online platforms. I have a biology background, however, I studied US and World History for 3 years in college, as well as 2 years of Chinese. I have also trained in a non-credited format, for many years, with an author and speaker who specializes in teaching children character qualities.

I have always enjoyed teaching. My first teaching position was in Moscow, Russia, teaching English as a second language. Since then, I’ve taught in various settings which include a cooperative, a preschool, and as a tutor in the areas of math, science, and English. I also am a homeschool mom!

I have taught this class to different groups at a cooperative, for both lower and upper elementary students. I enjoy teaching a subject or principle and including different areas of study along with the original idea.

宿題が提供されます
Reading of the weekly book and book based project. I will also send links and printables to aid in the experience.
授業以外に週あたり 2 - 4 時間の学習が期待されます
評価が提供されます
We do weekly quizzes in game form, though not especially formal they can be seen as an assessment. If a parent needs something more formal, with notice, I can provide it.
成績が提供されます
I generally do not "grade" but if parents do want something more formal, I am willing to do so with prior notice.
While not designed for any needs, I do understand various types of learning and learning needs. This is why I include different ways to deliver materials and instructions.
Students will need a copy of the book. It can be downloaded on a Kindle device instantly, purchased directly, or borrowed from the library.

We will be making the passports during the first class, I will send the printable to the classroom, please have it printed. It is not hard to make but will require a stapler and glue. If you’re more comfortable doing it before the first class, that is fine... just let me know!

Students will also need supplies for their projects. Depending on what they want to do, most supplies will be on hand, such as paper, cardboard, glue, crayons, scissors... and if they'd like to just write a poem or build with legos... that is just as good!
このクラスでは、Outschool内のクラスルームに加えて、以下を使用します。
History is full of things that can be unpleasant. During our reading we will learn about things like war, slavery, illness, dictatorship, but we will also see how people overcame much of this, and we will learn how not to repeat the mistakes made in the past. This is a safe environment to learn in and a great place to express our feelings about events of the past. Below is information sensitive to each book...

Where are the Great Pyramids - this book covers the mummification process and while discussing other pyramids around the world, mentions human sacrifice (brief mention).

Where is the Colosseum - this book talks about animals being used for gladiator fights and slaves fighting to the death.

Where is the Taj Mahal - this book talks about the rulers of India having multiple wives and the father of Shah Jahan is said to have been interested in drugs, in reference to why he didn't handle the day to day running of his empire (both are quick mentions).

Where is the Great Wall of China - this book discusses some war with China and the Barbarians (Mongolians).

Where is the Great Barrier Reek - this book covers habit loss of reef animals.

Where is Machu Picchu - this book discusses the Spanish killing an Incan King.

Where is the Grand Canyon - this books discusses Native Americans losing land.

Where is Niagara Falls - this book discusses people going over the waterfall, some do die.

Where is Stonehenge - this book discusses ancient faiths
