As a former middle and high school English teacher in the public school system, I've taught many lessons on grammar, always looking for fun ways to get students to love grammar as much as I do. On Outschool, learners enjoy the small class size, my sense of humor (I think?), and the laid back atmosphere of my classes. And some of them end up staying my weekly classes for years. Literally.

Students will be given 4 handouts per lesson. Printing them is completely optional! 1) a worksheet to use during class 2) a worksheet for extra practice during the week 3) a fun graphic to keep track of your time here 4) a collection of the weird facts presented during class
Students learn parts of speech every single year. Chapter one of most, if not all, grammar workbooks start there. Even the high school seniors I taught started the year with the parts of speech. So while these four parts of speech are typically learned in early elementary school, we're expanding on them for this age group. I've used a combination of Grade 7 and Grade 9 grammar workbooks (McDougal Littell, Inc.) to choose what types of nouns, adjectives, etc. to cover.
