In this weekly class, students will come ready to discuss their book of choice. The teacher will lead the discussion by asking questions that can apply to any book giving each student a chance to answer questions and give their input. After the discussion, we will work on a project! 

Week 1 (January 5th - January 11th):
Design a Character

Week 2 (January 12th - January 18th):
Build a Setting

Legos, Playdough, or other building medium of your choice

Week 3 (January 19th - January 25th): 
Design a New Cover
Supplies Needed:
Watercolor paper
Paintbrush
Water
Paper towel
Watercolors
Pencil

Week 4 (January 26th - February 1st): 
Create a Reading Log
Supplies Needed:
PDF
Pencil
Markers, colored pencils, or crayons

Week 5 (February 2nd - February 8th):
Book Mobile
Supplies Needed:
Index cards
Hold punch
Hanger
Ribbon or string
Pencil
Markers, Colored Pencils, or Crayons

Week 6 (February 9th - February 15th):
Create a Book Bingo Board
Supplies Needed:
PDF or plain paper
Pencil
Markers, Colored pencils, or crayons

Week 7 (February 16th - February 22nd):
Design a T-shirt
Supplies Needed:
Plain T-shirt
Pencil
Fabric Paint or Markers
Cardboard to go between layers of the shirt
Piece of paper

Week 8 (February 23rd - March 1st):
Create a Collage
Supplies Needed:
Paper
Scissors
Glue
Magazines to cut pictures from

Week 9 (March 2nd - March 8th):
Design a Food Truck

Week 10 (March 9th - March 15th):
Dress up like a Character Day
Supplies needed:
Dress up like a character from your book


Week 11 (March 16th - March 22nd):
Create a Board Game
Supplies Needed:
Poster board

Markers, Colored Pencils, or crayons
Optional: dice, spinner, index cards, air dry clay, small toys, etc. 

Week 12 (March 23rd - March 29th):
Create a Comic Strip
Supplies Needed:
PDF

Week 13 (March 30th - April 5th)
Share a Paper Bag Book Report
Supplies needed:
Paper bag with 5 household items that relate to the book

Week 14 (April 6th - April 12th)
Write a Letter to the Author
Supplies Needed:
Paper
Pencil
Markers, Colored pencils, or crayons
Envelope
Stamp

Week 15 (April 13th - April 19th)
Build a Scene
Supplies Needed: 
Shoe box
Construction Paper
Scissors
Glue
Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
Additional supplies used to create a scene from your book

 Projects will repeat with occasional new ones added by teacher creation or student suggestion!
