In this on-going class, the teacher will show Power Point Slides with a variety of vocabulary words, spellings, definitions, and examples of use. The students will learn new words each week and be able to use the vocabulary word in a sentence. Students will have a variety of examples and illustrations to enhance learning. Students will be able to share ideas and sentences with each other throughout class to better engage conversation using new vocabulary. Each weekly class will begin with a short review of previously learned words and examples. The teacher will end each 30 minute class with an opportunity for students to make suggestion of new words to learn for the following week. The teacher will provide many learning opportunities for the students by using Power Point Slides, discussion, examples of word usage, vocabulary words in sentences, and visual examples to enhance the class. Teacher chosen vocabulary words will change each week in order to give the students a wide variety of learning. This will be a fun class and will give students a fabulous opportunity to learn new words in English and incorporate the words in written sentences. Students are welcome to go from week to week or skip a few as the words will spiral through as review. Breakdown for the first 4 weeks: Week 1 (2-1-24): Vocabulary words that are nouns Week 2 (28-24) Vocabulary words that are verbs Week 3 (2-15-24) Vocabulary words that are adjectives Week 4 (2-22-24) Vocabulary words that are adverbs

Hello! Welcome to Outschool, I am so happy you are here. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am a certified teacher currently teaching Reading Intervention. I have over 20 years teaching and tutoring in the public and private school system. I also homeschooled two of our three children. Most of my teaching experience is in middle school English and Math. Teaching is such a beautiful gift for me. I enjoy helping others reach their full potential and watching them grow as they learn. Learning is an amazing adventure and it is one I take daily. I always try to learn new things to challenge myself.
Aside from teaching, I love to read and garden. I stay very busy as the mom of three young adults ages 20, 19, and 16. I also have two very precious dogs. My husband is also a teacher so our evening conversations are typically about school!
My personality and teaching style has always been very laid back and fun. I believe in laughing while learning! Confidence is key when we learn new things or when we are learning difficult things. I practice being a teacher who encourages, nurtures, and builds confidence. Teaching is a heartfelt calling that I do not take lightly. I truly enjoy working with learners of all ages in all subjects.
