Class 1 What is a Vision Board? A Vision Board represents a collection of your highest aspirations and dreams for yourself for the future. Look at it as a reminder of the things you want to achieve and the person you wish to become. Creating a Vision Board is a fun and creative way for students to become clear on your dreams and desires and transform them into reality. We become what we think about, and our lives are created from our thoughts. Unfortunately, we spend much of our lives thinking about what we don't want, and often that is what we draw into our lives. One of the most powerful aspects of a Vision Board is that you create a visual representation of your dreams and desires, helping you to put your attention on what you want to bring into your life. It is scientifically proven that seeing your goals and dreams every day will help drive you to achieve them. You will see an example of a Vision Board and how it is used in the movie The Gabby Douglas Story. Activity: Watch a Scene from the movie "The Gabby Douglas Story," where a Vision Board is being used. History of Vision Boards In this section, the students will learn about the history of the Vision Board, which dates back to the caveman era where pictures of animals and other visuals were sketched or painted on walls of caves and known as Cave Paintings. Many of these early cave paintings were painted in advance of a hunt where the artist was visually experiencing the hunting conquest in advance as a form of 'visioning' their future. Students will learn many such instances in different eras, where people have practiced using Vision Boards, like Egyptian Civilization, Gold Rush, DaVinci Era, Renaissance Paintings, or even Walt Disney. Activity: Discussion and Presentation on "History of Vision Boards" Why do you need Vision Boards? Vision Boards are one of the most powerful mind exercise students can do through their thoughts. When students begin visualizing, it is believed that the brain gets activated in a similar way as when the actual action happens, and so, it is a major performance driver. Students will learn the vital purpose of having a Vision Board – to bring everything on it to life. Students will understand some of the purposes of having Vision Boards. Discussion: Why do you need Vision Boards? Each student will explain why we need Vision Boards. Mind Exercise: Think and write about some of the things you want to have on your Vision Board. On a piece of paper the learner will answer the following questions: Emotions (what do you want to feel?) Relationships (whom do you want to have close relationships with?) Education (what education do you see yourself pursuing?) Work (what work do you see yourself doing for a living when you finish your education?) Required Skills (what skills would you need to do your work, hobbies?) Location (where do you see yourself living – both city/town, type of dwelling?) Recreational Activities (what would you like to do in your spare time?) Holidays (where would you like to travel?) Class 2 How to create a Vision Board? In this class, the students will learn to prepare a Vision Board. This class focuses on what students can put on their board, how to get the ideas, how to colleLifestyle (how much money do you want to have) The learners will use the answers to these questions to gather pictures and sayings to add to their board. ct items needed for making their Vision Board. Students learn that they can create one or more than one Vision Boards, physical or digital, small or large, and keep them in their study, or wallpaper. Students get to know of the sources of inspiration, like Pinterest or Google. They get to see some examples of different Vision Boards (of mostly students) and get an idea to make their own. Students learn some important things they need to remember when they make their Vision Boards, It should illustrate their goals or dreams Do not put anything negative on the Vision Board The Vision Board should be set up in a way that images can be added, changed, or removed as your dreams, goals, and aspirations change. Vision Board Activity – Students will create a Vision Board, based on the ideas they collected in the previous class exercise. Students can collect or draw about 15 images, symbols, thoughts, or quotes that represent their goals or dreams. They can arrange these items in any meaningful manner. Students are encouraged to make a creative Vision Board, which must include everything that might help put their dreams and goals into perspective. Once done, they should be able to justify why they have used the items they did and what it represents. Concluding Activity Arrange an exhibition where the students showcase the Vision Boards they have created. Each student will describe their Vision Board, the items they have put on it, and justify why it is used and what it represents. Students get a chance to see the Vision Boards of other fellow students.
