What is the scientific method really? And how to scientists use the method to study the world? You may have learned about the scientific method but how is it applied to actual science? And how to archaeologists use the scientific method in their research? In this class we will cover the basics of the scientific method, what a dependent and independent variable are, how they are applied to archaeological research, and follow a case study of a research project on rock art conservation management completed by the instructor to demonstrated how the scientific method and modern technology can be used in the study of archaeology.
