Week 1Lesson 1Introduction to the US ConstitutionWe will be learning about and discussing the road to the US Constitution as well as its importance and relevance.Week 2Lesson 2The Legislative BranchWe will be learning about and discussing Article 1 of the US Constitution. Learners will create a comic strip illustrating a legislative process.Week 3Lesson 3The Executive BranchWe will be learning about and discussing Article 2 of the US Constitution. Learners will role-play Presidential decision-making scenarios.Week 4Lesson 4The Judicial BranchWe will be learning about and discussing Article 3 of the US Constitution. We will look at famous historical Supreme Court Cases.Week 5Lesson 5Relationship between States and Federal GovernmentWe will be learning about and discussing Articles 4 through 6 of the US Constitution. Learners will create a graphic representation of checks and balances.Week 6Lesson 6Ratifying the ConstitutionWe will be learning about and discussing Article 7 of the US Constitution and the process of ratification.Week 7Lesson 7Bill of RightsWe will learn about and discuss the first 10 amendments of the US Constitution. We will discuss how these rights affect our daily lives.Week 8Lesson 8Later AmendmentsWe will learn about and discuss amendments 11 through 27 of the US Constitution. We will create visual representations of the amendments.Week 9Lesson 9The Constitution in ActionWe will discuss case studies on constitutional issues and discuss major constitutional controversies today. We will present our projects on our chosen amendments.Week 10Lesson 10Review and ReflectWe will have a comprehensive review on the US Constitution, the amendments, and their importance. We will create visual summaries of the US Constitution.

- Students will develop critical thinking and collaborative skills through discussions and projects.
