In this introductory ongoing class, we will learn about one type of government in each week. We will cover definitions, helpful terms, characteristics of government, and examples from history and today. We will also discuss the merits and shortcomings of each government type. My teaching style encourages open discussion (as students feel comfortable) throughout a structured yet conversational lecture supplemented with slides and images. To help students retain information, note-taking is encouraged as well. There will be an informal question and answer each class to assess their learning outcome. There is no homework and students do not require any prior knowledge or supplies for this class. Week 1: Plutocracy Week 2: Communism Week 3: Socialism Week 4: Fascism Week 5: Monarchy Week 6: Oligarchy Week 7: Democracy Week 8: Autocracy Week 9: Totalitarianism Week 10: Authoritarianism Week 11: Colonialism Week 12: Technocracy

My B.A. degree in Cultural Studies has afforded me a great deal of education and experience regarding cultural sensitivities. Some courses in which I have specifically focused on cultures and governments include the Caribbean, China, and Latin America. This covers a wide variety of types of government, history and culture.
I have also traveled extensively seeing the culture of nations throughout the world firsthand including; Italy, France, Morocco, Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Cambodia, Jamaica, Canada.
My ongoing studies for the Foreign Service Exam also keep me up to date on world governments, especially current events.
This course is an expanded version of a successful and well-reviewed course I have taught on Outschool for the last year "What's the Difference? Types of Government from Around the World!" My experience teaching government on outschool includes over 350 hours of teaching, almost 500 learners, and loads of five star reviews.
Per multiple parent and student requests, I have created this class to allow students space to expand and explore our potential discussion. My feedback repeatedly notes an unbiased approach in my classroom when discussing government.レビュー
