Having quality friendships is very important in the social development of children. In this class students will learn about what it means to be a good friend and explore important aspects of friendships such as; sharing, cooperating and communicating. 

In this class students will learn
How to be a good friend themselves 
The differences between a good friend and a bad friend
To value quality friendships over quantity of friends

During class learners will be asked to create an image of their ideal true friend and include various things that they believe qualifies as a “true friend”. Learners will also be asked to engage in discussion about what they believe a good friend is and share how they themselves are or plan to be good friends. 

Students will be asked to put their ideas of friendship to the test as they are given various situations on which to reflect. Learners will have to identify whether or not they feel the individuals in the situations are being good friends and what they could have done differently (or did well). 

This class requires a lot of student engagement during discussion and when answering questions about the various situations. Learners will also have the opportunity to be creative as they create their drawing of a “true friend”. My classes are always very fun and engaging. I am a very supportive and inclusive teacher who loves to support her students in any way possible.
