Is your 1st grader excited to be entering 2nd grade? This is the perfect class to get your upcoming 2nd grader ready for 2nd grade math. We will review math strategies to prepare for more complex math concepts that will be covered in 2nd grade. In this highly interactive course learners will learn strategies to improve or enhance his or her math skills. This course will engage learners by using a large amount of visual anchor charts along with teacher modeling and peer discussion. Math worksheets that will be used during each lesson will be provided by teacher. Each class will consist of a teacher led lesson, followed by group practice. I believe in meeting learners at their current academic level and providing an encouraging learning environment to facilitate meaningful learning. ** I do not share class recordings due to agreements with publishers to not post videos with materials they have given permission to use. ** Week 1 June 2 Odd and Even and Arrays Week 2: June 9 Doubles and Near Doubles NO CLASS THE WEEK OF JUNE 17th Week 3: June 23 Fact families Week 4: June 30 Adding 2 digit numbers Week 5: July 7 Subtracting 2 digit numbers Week 6: July 14 Telling Time Week 7: July 21 Place Value Week 8: July 28 Subtracting Fluently Week 9: August 4 Adding Fluently Week 10: August 11 Addition and Subtraction Word Problems Week 11: August 18 Rounding and rounding to add Week 12 August 25 Word Problems

Learners will be provided with a PDF worksheet that we will use during each lesson. However, if learners do no wish to print the worksheets they can follow along with my screen and use a piece or paper or whiteboard.
