This class is set up to play as a regular D&D game with teaching moments. Students are encouraged to ask questions and we help with their characters, making decisions, and exploring all options. Classes will be structured in the following way: the first class is a session 0 and mini starter session to get to know students, their characters, what they hope to experience in the game and how they want to play. After the first session, we dive into the campaign fully where I take all that information in the starter session and develop the story in a way that appeals to how they want to play and grow. During these games and sessions, students are expected to add to the story however possible, creating new creatures, suggesting changes, or even making decisions to improve the stakes they face. This campaign is set up for level 11 characters and the goal is to level them up to 14 by the end of the campaign. It is a trickier campaign and the stakes are a bit higher, but with teamwork, problem-solving skills, and the roll of the dice, I expect the students to enjoying meeting new creatures and being successful at the end of the 12 weeks. Please see the following schedule below, weeks may get adjusted depending on attendance and holidays. Weekly schedule: Week 1: Session 0, mini challenge Week 2: Session 1, campaign begins Week 3: Session 2, discovering the land and forest Week 4: Session 3, a dangerous curse and intriguing proposition Week 5: Session 4, finding our way and managing the wilds Week 6: Session 5, discovering histories and dealing with dinosaurs Week 7: Session 6, strange tribes and new villages Week 8: Session 7, temple challenges and puzzles Week 9: Session 8, temple hardships, recovering the treasure Week 10: Session 9, breaking the curse, returning the treasure Week 11: Session 10, curse is cured, the wilds become unsettled Week 12: Session 11, finale

In Dungeons and Dragons, there are combat scenes so violence is to be expected. Nothing will be described in a lot of details to avoid anything grotesque or too violent. If any concerns, please reach out at any time.

Hello! My name is Violet Wallace and I teach a variety of subjects and topics from debate and persuasion to character building, and even Dungeons and Dragons! When it comes to my teaching career, I have taught full time for 3 years now; one year in Canada in Adult Education teaching English Language Arts and Computer Studies and two years in the UK covering subjects from English Language Arts, Religious Studies, Photography, French, Spanish, and a bit of Biology! I believe that teachers need to be passionate about what they teach, caring and understanding to their students, and to be the best mentors/support systems they can be for their students. Progress is important and if we are having fun while being challenged along the way, a lot of growth will happen naturally in the classroom. I also have a pet cat named Wasabi who may make the occasional appearance in class!
