Students will learn to be more objective about life decisions.
Students will practice communication skills and research skills in relation to their areas of interest.

Helping students make decisions about their future is one of my favorite things to do.  I have over 25 years of experience in education and specifically in my role as high school principal I worked very closely with our college counselors to help students access opportunities and seize them.  Now I am interested in bringing this expertise and knowledge to Outschool and have learned a bit more about the 'homeschooling/unschooling' routes plus have experience with other educational systems including the UK since I lived there for five years.

Between each session students will be assigned to do further research about the career directions they are considering, post secondary institutions they are curious about and research about the power of networking.  Since these tasks are in relation to the students' interests the amount of time required is dependent on the individual.  It can be between 30 minutes and beyond based on the learners' interests.  In all cases the homework is optional.

Since this class is more about life skills the assessment is formative and will result in the student's ability to make decisions.

We will be looking at websites including www.collegeboard.com, https://www3.weforum.org/docs/WEF_Jobs_of_Tomorrow_2020.pdf .  I will provide students with a list of all resources after each session.
