Students will use basic music theory to create a short, 16 measure composition. 

I have a music education degree from an accredited state university. I have also played trombone and piano for over ten years.

An assignment will be given at the end of each topic for the students to practice the ideas discussed in class. During the next topic or video, I will briefly review the previous topics, and address any questions that any student might have so that all might benefit from the discussion. The homework will be worksheets that students can post in the class, or that we can review together. The worksheets allow the students to practice whatever we discussed in class.

I will not give grades, I will simply mark which questions the students answered incorrectly and give them an opportunity to learn from their mistakes, if they choose to submit the assignment. The ultimate assessment is how well they feel they do on the composition. I am happy to give feedback on the composition at the end of the course.

All sources will be provided by the instructor. There will be no third party resources. All resources will be part of screen sharing in the classroom as part of the videos.
