Animals are wonderful, and some of them can be very weird! In this one-time live class, we'll investigate just a handful of the many strange animals that inhabit our planet, including animals too small to see! YouTube, photos, maps, and more will guide our learning. Learners will work together to solve a mind-bending puzzle to determine the identity of each animal and discover its bizarre features. Amongst the animals we will study are the seahorse, the platypus, the mantis shrimp, the tuatara, the mudskipper, and the tardigrade (which also has the adorable name of waterbear.)

教師の専門知識と資格
[Pronouns: they/he] My goal as an educator is to inspire curiosity, compassion, and creativity in the next generation of global citizens. I have 20 years of experience in various educational settings, including a daycare, two children's museums, a storyteller's stage, two university tutoring centers, and online as a teacher of English as a second language. I hold a BA in creative writing with a minor in studio arts from Metropolitan State University (St. Paul).
I offer classes that embody my passions: travel, storytelling, history, literature, science, art, and early-childhood education. My teaching style is marked by patience, gentleness, and humor—less Elmo, more Mister Rogers. I believe it is essential for children to learn the importance of asking "why." My greatest asset as a teacher is adapting quickly to the needs and skills of my students.
Beyond teaching, i am a published essayist and poet. I currently reside in Minneapolis. My interests include linguistics, travel, volunteering, heraldry, graphic design, video games, and caring for my pet lovebird, Buddy.
