Hello and welcome! Each week, students will delve into exciting topics in life sciences through interactive lessons and engaging discussions. From exploring the inner workings of cells to understanding the principles of genetics and ecology, this course will provide a comprehensive foundation in biology. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, your child will develop a deeper appreciation for the living world around them and gain valuable insights into the scientific method and its application in life sciences. I'll be using slides, short videos, worksheets, virtual labs, and interactive discussions to teach this class. I'll ask questions to make sure everyone understands. Prior knowledge in any of these topics is not required before joining our Science class . My goal is to make learning fun and welcoming for everyone in the class. Here the topics covered in this course: Week 1: Introduction to Life Sciences Week 2: Cell Biology Week 3: Chemistry of Life Week 4: Genetics Week 5: Ecology Week 6: Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis Week 7: Reproductive Biology: Mitosis and Meiosis Week 8: Human Body Systems This biology course is perfect for students aspiring to further their understanding of life sciences, particularly those preparing for high school, early high school students seeking to deepen their knowledge or explore topics perhaps not covered in class as well as home schooled students, etc...
