Tongue Twisters can be shared. Meeting 5: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed read chapters 8-9 ‘What calms me’ haiku. Students will count syllables to describe the way they find peace. Meeting 6: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed read chapters 10-11 Students will choose a sport or activity to write a poem about. Meeting 7: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed read chapters 12-13 A summary will be written by each student and shared. Meeting 8: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed Read chapters 14-15 Students will describe a time something made them sore. Meeting 11: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed read chapter 20 Students can share nicknames; they will write a poem about veterans. Meeting 12: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed read chapters 21-22 Students will share jokes Justin would enjoy. Meeting 13: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed read chapters 23-24 Students write poems about feelings of panic or what causes them. Meeting 14: Vocabulary – A list of words and definitions will be discussed Read chapters 25-26 Write a summary of the book.
