IEW experience is helpful, but not required.

We will work through a 5 paragraph essay, paragraph by paragraph, on a topic of your choosing.  (I will provide a list of possible topics).  I will teach you how to brainstorm, outline, and write the paragraphs with structure and style, using the IEW essay structure and style writing method.  A checklist will be provided, and structure and style methods will be reviewed/introduced.  We will discuss how this method can be applied to any topic.  The end result will be a 5 paragraph personal essay that can be used for college applications, and the method learned can be applied to any and all future essays required throughout schooling and life.  

Week 1 - Overview of IEW structure and style, outlining, pick topics, if time permits we will begin outlining
Week 2 - Body paragraphs
Week 3 - Introduction and Conclusion
Week 4 - Share finished products, review  (not required to share, but strongly encouraged, as students can learn so much from one another).   

Students will be put into individual rooms for part of  each class so they can work on their specific topics, and I will pop in to check on them, address questions, and discuss their specific needs.  

This course can be taken more than once, if desired, as a different essay will be the outcome each time.
