In this course, students will interact with the teacher through live video. Each class will begin with 20 minutes of instruction followed by 10 minutes of guided practice. Students will then practice the skills and present their own work to the class for feedback for the final 15 minutes. Students will critique each other and give suggestions and feedback. Additional guidance and suggestions will be provided by the teacher. All students will also learn about techniques for critiquing and feedback. The class is structured as follows: Class 1- How to write a thesis statement Class 2- How to support your thesis Class 3- The "So what?" Class 4-Putting it all together Class 5-Introductions and conclusions Class 6-The final product

Students will be able to complete a well-supported analytical essay in six sessions. Each learner will focus on crafting a specific, arguable thesis and supporting that thesis with text-based evidence.
