Students will improve their reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary as they read and analyze American literature written over a period of 100 years. They will also learn to think deeply about what they read so that they can better understand themselves and the world in which they live, which improves metacognitive skills and learning. Students will learn to discuss literature analytically, increasing their communication skills. Students will become a part of an online community bound together by books. Most importantly, they will learn to love literature and become life-long readers.
