In this ongoing class, we discuss the InvestiGators, a graphic novel series by John Patrick Green. 

It is expected that students attend having read the novel for that week.

Week 1: book one Investigators
Week 2: book 2 Take the Plunge
Week 3: book 3 Off the Hook
Week 4: book 4 Ants in Our P.A.N.T.S.
Week 5:  book 5 Braver and Boulder
Week 6: book 6 Heist and Seek
Week 7: book 7 All Tide Up

Each week we will begin our class with a Five Finger Retell, where we discuss the characters, setting, beginning, middle and end of the book for the week. After, we will make text-to-text, text-to-self and text-to-world connections. Then we will run through a series of guided comprehension questions that will include making predictions, inferences, discussing vocabulary in the book, plot points, themes, tone, mood and style. We will discuss how the illustrations enhance the message of the book.  We will end with a speed round of trivia questions. 

The class will be run through guided discussion. Students are encouraged to share their thoughts throughout class. It is recommended that students bring their book with them to each class for reference.
