You will learn in:
Class 1 about types of rhymes and forms of songs
Class 2 about catchy, easy-to-sing, and inventive melodies, 
Class 3 about major and minor chords, chord patterns (progressions), and how those work with a melody
Class 4 about recording and which apps to use.

Learners will need to individually create and submit homework each week. After class one, they should submit their lyrics. After class two, they should submit their lyrics and melody combined. After class three, they should submit their lyrics, melody, and chord progression. After class four, they should submit their full recorded song.

You will receive a written assessment with an optional letter grade.

We will refer to family-friendly pop songs as you learn about form, melodies, and chords. These will be available on YouTube, Spotify, and other music streaming platforms. While listening to them is encouraged, it is not required.

I also recommend using www.wordhippo.com to find rhymes for lyrics. We will look at a few in-class.
