This is a four week flex course about the care and keeping of an Axolotl. Flex classes do not have live meetings. In this flex course students will learn about where axolotls live in the wild and also about how to take care of them in captivity from egg to adult. I personally raise and rescue axolotls. Throughout this course I will use written lessons, live videos, photos and my personal axolotls to teach students about these amazing creatures. Students will interact with each other...
I currently have over 200 axolotls in my care (this number is constantly changing). I have 5 adults, 7 juveniles and almost 200 babies. several of our axolotls are rescues, including some of the babies that I rescue as eggs.
Students will be doing crafts of their choice, so they can use supplies you have within your house. I will be posting some worksheets for the students, if you can print these that would be helpful, but if not the students can just write their answers on another piece of paper.

While talking about my personal axolotls I will share their rescue stories. A couple of the stories are a little sad because the axolotl was neglected and injured, but they do have a happy ending! Please note the hours per week of work will vary a little per student, depending on the activities they choose to make. Videos are uploaded to you tube, they are set for kids, so there are no ads with the video. They are listed as unlisted so students will only be able to view them with the link listed in the classroom each week.
Some of the videos will be posted as a youtube link, as the files are to large for me to upload into the classroom. These are unlisted videos, made by me, for kids. That way there are no ads or anything in the video that is inappropriate for students to view.
