There are many parts to a story. This eight week course will use the question family (who, why, what, where, when and how) to illustrate the elements from stories. One member of the question family will define and explain themes, plots, settings, characters, main ideas as well as the author's point of view. My goal is to encourage life long readers. The understanding of the elements of stories can be carried over to studying, research and essay writing skills. Learning requires attention, retention, motivation and prior knowledge. My courses are created using R2D2 (read, reflect, display and do) Each sessions uses animation, interactive assignments, discussions, and group activities to encourage learning.
