Meet new friends, practice conversation and social skills, and learn new games in a relaxed, low-pressure environment with a different activity every week. Make sure this club fits before you commit! Your first club meeting is FREE with code BROOK1STTIME13 at checkout. → WHAT DO WE DO? ← Every two months, we'll follow a theme rotation as outlined below: ∙ PARTY GAMES. (i.e. Friendly Feud, Caveman Poetry, Wits & Wagers, etc). ∙ TRIVIA. (i.e. Jeopardy, Kahoot, etc). ∙ PARTY GAMES. (i.e. Charades, Psychiatrist, Chameleon, etc). ∙ ART SHARE. (i.e. Collaborative art project, doodle demonstrations, prompt drawings, etc. No need to be “artistic” - I’m not! Whether you draw full portraits or sad stick figures, these weeks will accommodate all skill levels). ∙ PARTY GAMES. (i.e. Gartic Phone, Hues & Cues, Never Have I Ever, etc). ∙ MURDER MYSTERY. (i.e. Mafia, scripted mysteries, build-your-owns, etc). ∙ PARTY GAMES. (i.e. Would You Rather, Spotlight, the Initial Game, etc). ∙ CHALLENGE WEEK. (i.e. Escape room, group puzzles, etc). → CLASS STYLE ← Our meetings are ongoing. No prep work, no homework, and join anytime. This club is designed for you to come on the weeks that interest you and feel comfortable skipping weeks if you want. Get your friends to join us, and give me suggestions for what types of activities you want to see. Bring your own snacks! → CLASS FORMAT ← Each meeting will look like this: ➊ A quick introductory activity to learn names and discover common interests. ➋ Brief explanation of the week's activity. What will it involve? What are the rules (if any)? ➌ Start! Whatever the week's activity, we'll dive right in with a practice round or an example. The fastest (and most fun) way to learn is by doing. ➍ Open-mic chatting. When everyone is comfortable with the game flow, the time will be yours to talk and participate. I'll be there to help out if conversation stalls, so don't stress too much about feeling awkward. Just have fun. → PARTICIPATION & CAMERA ← Active participation is encouraged but not required. If you’d like to just watch and listen, that’s perfectly fine. You can join in whenever you feel comfortable. I do require that your camera be on for the duration of the meeting. This allows me to verify your identity per Outschool’s safety requirements, helps everyone feel more comfortable knowing who is in the group, and fosters pro-social skills. If you would like a special exception made in your case, please reach out to me 2-3 days BEFORE the meeting. I’m happy to talk about it with you! I look forward to seeing you in our Teen Social Club! → THIRD PARTY DISCLAIMER ← For some meetings, we will use third party sites such as Canva.com, Kahoot.com, JeopardyLabs.com, Drawasaurus.org, and GarticPhone.com. I will give all registered participants advance notice of what sites we will be using for the week’s meeting and any login information. As much as possible, I will avoid sites that require you to make an account - I know how annoying that is! Please note that some sites do run ads which are outside my ability to control.
Learning Goals

As a former Teen Center Director for my local Boys & Girls Club, I have logged hundreds of hours designing programs for and interacting with teens. Most of what I offer in Outschool is already tried and tested on teens in-person and just requires adaptation for the virtual space.
