* - All arrangements of sheet music of sheet music in these crash courses are arranged by the teacher but must be sold off-platform due to copyright restrictions. All lyrics are kid-friendly and parent-approved!
Each lesson will include:

over 4 WeeksLesson 1:
This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things
This lessons is a review of how to find middle C and play in alpha rhythmic notation. Focus on skips and steps in right hand (E to C and E to D). 25 mins online live lesson
Lesson 2:
I Can Do It with a Broken Heart
This lesson introduces high A in the right hand. Focus on skips between E and G with right hand 2 and 4 finger. 25 mins online live lesson
Lesson 3:
Fortnight
This lesson practices repeated patterns in music. 25 mins online live lesson

Cruel Summer

Parents must stay off camera as much as possible but will need to assist as necessary during class time to help their young learner find the correct keys, clap along to the rhythm, and control the mute button in Zoom. Parents will also be expected to assist with at home practice throughout the week.
Absolutely NO EATING during class. Learners will need the constant use of both of their hands as well as to engage with their full attention. Learners who are eating on camera may be asked to leave.
I will screenshare games I have made in Google Drive and Scratch to review music theory concepts if we have time in class.

As a teacher with over twenty years of experience, I have been running my own piano studio full-time for the last decade. I started learning music in piano lessons when I was four years old and am currently teaching my 15th academic year as a piano teacher. I also am a former public school art teacher, university adjunct professor, swim instructor, dance teacher, and math tutor.
The Suzuki method is at the core of many of my ideas about teaching music. Shin’ichi Suzuki believed that music is like a language and therefore should be taught like one-- learning to speak before reading and writing and that learning should take place in a loving and supportive environment, with constant repetition, and with helpful modeling from the parents.
