Students (ages 13-17) will learn Japanese vocabulary in this ongoing course! We will meet once a week, and the class will be conducted in both English and Japanese. In every session, students will learn about ten new vocabulary words. For this class, students should know the Japanese hiragana system or be willing to learn the hiragana independently. Students will see the vocabulary in hiragana or Kanji, should the world typically be written in Kanji. Furigana, the small hiragana script above Kanji to show the reading, will also be used where appropriate. Students will also be given the English-translated meaning of the vocabulary words. It is vital that students feel welcome and excited about learning. While having fun, we will also practice good classroom etiquette. Let’s get ready to learn and have fun!
