Students will learn common verbs relating to hobbies and abilities in Mandarin. Classes will consist of reviewing vocabulary and participating in games and activities such as matching games to implement and practice phrases between student-student and student-teacher. Teaching style includes brief explanations, learn through play, visuals, question/answer drills and repetition activities. Learners should already have command on basic Chinese question and answer patterns and vocabulary. Week 1: Play games and activities to practice the hobbies vocabulary and use the verb 'to like'. Week 2: Discuss verb-object patterns and how they create a word. Practice the vocab using the verb 'to know how to'. Learn new vocab. Week 3: Learn the term for 'hobbies' and how to ask someone what their hobbies are. Week 4: Evaluate and combine all we've learned. Writing sheets will be provided for those who would like to participate in the writing portion.

Nihao! We teach Mandarin Chinese to children and teens using interactive learning and teaching methods. Our teachers are either native Chinese speakers, have an advanced degree in Chinese and experience teaching, or have lived in a Chinese speaking country extensively and have experience teaching Chinese. Our teachers have a wide range of experience that match them to their respective class groups. Our courses include the use of music, technology, games, culture and learning through play. Each course is designed with age-specific targets and resources. Much research and evaluation is continually embedded into our curriculum to make it as effective and efficient as possible. There's always a way to overcome obstacles in learning, especially in language-learning and we embrace the opportunity help students overcome any obstacles they face.
