このクラスで学べること
In this ongoing course students will learn soprano recorder using the Suzuki method. The Suzuki Method is carefully designed to teach a new technique with each piece. We will start the course with pre-instrument steps and progress through the Suzuki Repertoire at a comfortable pace for each student. Students do not need any prior experience of recorder playing but it may be helpful, especially for younger students, to participate in my one-off 'Get Ready for Recorder' class before enrolling on this course. Students will proceed at their own pace throughout the duration of the course. An approximate schedule is as follows: Week 1: Pre-Instrument steps Week 2: Note D and One Bird Week 3: Note F# and One Bird Week 4: Note E and Two Birds As this is a Suzuki class, students will be learning to play by ear and they will not be reading written notation at this stage. If you would also like your child to learn how to read music I recommend that you sign up for my Music Theory With Music Mind Games. This is a fun game based class using attractive materials. It works very well for Suzuki learners of any instrument. https://outschool.com/classes/music-theory-with-music-mind-games-72sudlxn?usid=AqiMytAP&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link

受講に必要なもの
You will need: Essential: Recorder Please ensure you have a good quality plastic or wooden soprano recorder and not a toy recorder. It is important to have a good quality instrument so that you are able to make a beautiful sound. I recommend the Yamaha YRS 312Biii but many other good quality recorders of approximately £20-£35 ($20-$45) are available. Please contact me if you have questions about a specific model. You will need to tape over the holes of your recorder with electrical insulation tape. You will be able to access instructions for this upon enrollment. Repertoire Playlist Suzuki Recorder Book 1 & 2 (Soprano) CD or digital playlist. Ideally the playlist, at least the first five pieces, should be listened to daily. Optional: Suzuki Book 1 Recorder (Soprano) book Thumb rest I strongly recommend using a thumb rest. It assists hand positioning and is essential for students who continue into Suzuki Recorder Volume 2.
