Older and younger learners are welcome!
I will teach young artists how to identify shapes and lines in this fun character drawing! They will create a special Fourth of July drawing that will be completely unique to them as they choose their own styles and colors to add to their picture. First I will teach the class how to draw a Bob-Omb character, and learners will see my hand and paper as I guide the process step-by-step. Next I will show some examples of firework styles and other details - letting the students choose what they would like to add to make their pictures pop! Students can use a pencil or marker to start with. After my guided drawing is over, we will work independently to color them in. Students can use any coloring utensil they prefer! Crayons, colored pencils, markers, paint, pastels, the sky is the limit.
Every learner can customize their artwork to be extra special. Add extra characters or words, anything you want!
In the end, each learner will have a super drawing to celebrate the 4th of July!

Hello, I'm Ms. Jes! 

In my classes, kids unleash their inner artist using favorite characters and games that I’m just as passionate about as they are. We explore spontaneous creativity and embracing “mistakes”. Let’s start drawing outside the box!

I am most passionate about teaching art and learning in unique ways. My approach to teaching infuses encouragement and optimism while having fun and connecting with a new generation over shared interests. Every child is special and celebrated for being who they are! No matter the class, I believe in positively approaching learning and finding joy in it. 

• Outside of Outschool, I founded a nonprofit youth performing arts academy in 2015. 

• I live in the beautiful Midwest of the USA with my husband and two children.
