Hello! I am excited to teach young learners phonics, phonemic awareness, early literacy skills, foundational reading, writing, and comprehension. I am a Kindergarten Teacher with a Masters Degree in Reading Specialist, National Board Certified Teacher, English Language Learner Certified, and many years of experience teaching young learners to read, write, and understand mathematical concepts. I also have experience teaching social-emotional learning to 5-6 year old children using zones of regulation and the second step program. I believe all children have the ability to learn at their own pace and through various learning methods. I like to learn where a child is developmentally, emotionally, and socially and then create lessons that are geared to their strengths. I am currently a volunteer at a horse therapeutic riding stable where I work with exceptional people learning to ride horses. Seeing the connection between people and horses has been a rewarding experience! I am also learning to ride horses myself. I believe the love of learning is a lifelong skill that is developed at an early age.
