🍏In this Language Arts class, scholars will learn and practice reading comprehension strategies and essay writing skills. The curriculum will be based on grades 5th-8th ELA standards. The key concepts that will be taught and reviewed will involve theme, character analysis, plot elements,  grammar , figurative language, text structure, poetry elements, argumentative writing, informational writing, and narrative writing. 
Students will have opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge throughout the class through sharing answers and through independent activities. In the event that students are unable to complete independent activities and assignments assigned during class, students are expected to complete the activity outside of class before the next meeting.
