I love crafting and believe that even with the most basic materials you can use your imagination to create something really special. That's why I enjoy leading both structured and unstructured crafting sessions for kids. Being creative shouldn't require a ton of supplies that are difficult for kids to obtain or use. They should be practical, adaptable, and inspire children to think creatively.

My background:

Since my siblings are over a decade older than me, I have been an aunt since I was twelve and have spent over ten years entertaining babies and small children. From 2016 to 2020, I was a nanny at a private residence where I was responsible for the weekly care of two girls (who were 3 and 5 at the start). There, I developed enriching creative activities, including crafting, painting, acting, sewing, and writing. To this day, those girls (now 7 and 10) light up when they talk about their crafting experiences and continue to craft on their own using all they learned in our time together. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Cinema Studies at the State University of New York at Purchase.

My classes:

I like to craft two ways. The first is with a structured craft where we go step by step with a specific goal in mind. These classes often require set materials, though I always make sure to keep the supplies list as simple as possible for easy use at home. I also teach more loosely designed recycled crafting sessions where kids collect things from home that are no longer needed (carboard boxes, tubes, extra ribbon, etc.) and, based on the child's own collection, we develop a unique craft together.

As the holiday season approaches, I also plan to offer classes on how kids can make gifts for loved ones at home.

My dog, Phoebe, likes to take a look at the end and see how our projects come out!
