このクラスで学べること

I love doing experiments with kids, and I am so excited to help your children become scientific learners! In this ongoing course, we will have a different STEAM (STEM + Art) challenge each week. Students will practice science, technology, engineering, art, and math skills. They will predict, hypothesize, experiment, and create freely.

S: Science: The process of exploring and learning about the world around us. We will use experiments to help develop skills of observing, describing, and comparing.
T: Technology: The use of tools and electronics. We will explore and create simple machines, such as levers, catapults, gears, pulleys, wheels, etc.
E: Engineering: The process of designing and constructing something to solve a problem. We will build with different materials in large and small scale.
A: Art: Using open-ended creativity to express and communicate ideas. We will use open-ended process art to express ourselves in class.
M: Math: Understanding relationships between numbers, patterns, and shapes. We will integrate math into lessons.

Each week, I will present a different weekly STEAM lesson topic to the students. First, they will have a short lesson on the topic. Next, they will complete an activity that is STEAM focused. Finally, they will make observations about the activity and share their work with the class. Some classes will be more science learning based, and some will be more creative thinking based. Each class will have a lesson and hands on activity for the kids to do.

Children are welcome to join this class at any time! I will post the lesson/topic weekly, so that parents and students can prepare. There are many supplies used for this class, but I am always happy to help with substitutions if possible! I am excited to see you in class!

For weekly themes and supplies, please see the supply section. :)

Hi, friends! My name is Teacher Angela, and I love teaching early learning classes. My classes include topics of early literacy, STEAM, circle time, and full curriculum classes. I have been working with kids as long as I can remember. I have babysat, been a nanny, and helped look after my 6 younger siblings.

I have my Bachelor's degree in Human Development, with a certificate in Child Development and Care. I have worked with preschoolers since 2010. Some of my roles have included teaching preschool, and acting as a Program Supervisor and Director of a child care center. I helped develop curriculum for the classrooms and helped grow the preschool program as a whole. I have worked with many curriculums, and I have training in Zoo-Phonics and Handwriting Without Tears. I also taught ESL online for 2 years. I am currently finishing my master's degree in Elementary Education.

My teaching style is to encourage conversation, engagement, and fun in the classroom. I think it is important for kids to have opportunities to share and interact. I also think it is so important for kids to have fun learning! Learning shouldn't just be through worksheets and homework, it should involve motions and play! In my classes, we will have so much fun learning. We will go on adventures, sing songs, do lots of arts and crafts, complete experiments, and use lots of movement. Some of my favorite book characters are Pete the Cat and Little Blue Truck. I can't wait to meet you in the classroom! :)
