Students will learn basic piano and music reading skills including posture/technique, types of notes (quarter, half, dotted half, and whole), the names of the white keys and a basic overview of the staff with beginning note reading in both treble and bass clefs.

I have played piano since I was four years old and earned a BA in music in 2009. I have been teaching piano lessons since 2008, and immediately fell in love with helping students grow musically and as people. I seek to help my students become independent musicians as soon as possible by teaching music reading and music theory.

Homework is to practice the assigned songs and post videos of playing the songs in the classroom during the week.

Students are assessed by their posted videos. The teacher will give feedback to each student regarding both things they are doing well and what to focus on to improve.
