In this one-time class, we'll use sponge painting to create some not-so-scary monsters!

🎨 We'll start class with a warm welcome and icebreaker question, then we'll move on to our project!

🎨 First, we'll use washable/tempera paint to sponge paint a large blob for our monster's body. Learners are encouraged to use any colors they like and to make the body any shape. Creativity is encouraged!  

🎨 Next, we'll choose some eyes and a mouth from the printout provided and cut them out. Then, we'll glue those onto our monster bodies.

🎨 Finally, we'll draw some simple arms, legs, and other details with a marker or pen.

🎨 We'll repeat this process 2-3 times (or more, if time permits) so that learners can experiment with different colors, shapes, and details of their monsters.

This project is meant to be fun, relaxed, and allow for lots of creativity from learners. There is no experience required for this class- beginners welcome!

I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Everyone's finished product will be different and we celebrate those differences! Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here!
