Students are constantly exposed to speaking..I will share a story, or a short clip followed by students' expressing observations and favorite parts, and are given an opportunity to share their own favorite book or toy. Students become comfortable enough to share the things they love, and then begin to structure their shares in a confident or organized manner. Endless forms of speaking will be explored: How-To speeches, Make Believe Speeches, Informative Speeches, Persuasive speeches and even Debate!

Bring a favorite book or toy. Sometimes we use hats/crowns/tiaras. Homework will occasionally require coloring or drawing on paper.

I focus on social emotional learning for elementary aged students in Speech, Dance, and Life Skills classes.
I hold a BA in Speech and am a certified social emotional and character development educator. I am a recipient of the Forensic Academic Achievement Award and Scholarship for achievements in both academics and debate and dramatic Interpretation.
I believe understanding and managing emotions, finding healthy outlets and honoring one's uniqueness are the keys to healthy living. To me, emotional health outweighs anything we can learn in school, but with it, we can achieve greater success in academics, the workplace and in life!
