✨️ Get your first class free by using coupon code SPANISHSPARK15 at checkout. ✨️ Level up your language learning with reading! 📚 Students ages 6-10 will have a blast learning beginner Spanish vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure by reading leveled books with high frequency words. Since Spanish is a syllabic language, the teaching of phonological awareness centers on vowel sounds and the formation of syllables to decode. For this reason, we will start each class with vowel and syllable review through the use of songs and activities. Next, students will be introduced to 5 or 6 selected high frequency words through interactive slides. Finally, learners will apply their knowledge by reading an on screen leveled book together. Each student will be able to repeat vocabulary covered to ensure proper pronunciation and understanding. Vocabulary lists and extra resources will be posted in the classroom and available to print at the start of each week. This is an ongoing class, meeting one time per week. Each class will feature a new leveled reader in Spanish and can be a stand alone class. Learners may come and go as their schedule allows, as long as there are available spaces upon enrollment. Classes will cycle every 10 weeks, so feel free to join at any point! No prior Spanish knowledge is necessary. ¡Aprendamos juntos! Let's learn together! ❇️ Week 1: (October 28-November 1) "Contar a la hora de dormir" by Melissa Brenner (counting and the verb contar) ❇️ Week 2: (November 4-8) "Me encantan los piratas" by Edie Evans (the verb encantar) ❇️ Week 3: (November 11-15) "Mi perro" by Vic Moors (the verb poder with various action verbs) ❇️ Week 4: (November 18-22) "Un pez ve" by Edie Evans (the verb ver) ❇️ Week 5: (December 2-6) "Este insecto" by Nigel Pepperhouse (the verb ser with various adjectives) ❇️ Week 6: (December 9-13) "Esto está bien, esto no está bien" by Edie Evans (the verb estar) ❇️ Week 7: (December 16-20) "¿Quién lo tiene?" by Anthony Curran (the verb tener) ❇️ Week 8: (December 30-January 3) "¿Dónde hay agua?" by Felicia Brown (the verb haber) ❇️ Week 9: (January 6-10) "Mi dinosaurio mascota" by Anthony Curran (the verb poder with various action verbs) ❇️ Week 10: (October 21-25 and January 13-17) "Vamos animales" by Brian Roberts (the verb ir with animals)
