Beginning with story time, I will read "Sir Cumference and the Viking's Map" by Cindy Neuschwander. Then with a X/Y Coordinates video clip, we will examine the importance of coordinates and mapmakings. We will discuss what X and Y coordinates are, why they are formed, and why it is important to understand them. The students will then create their own version of a map with X/Y Coordinates. Finally, I will provide a link enrichment activity for after class to continue the study of graphs. This is a great introduction into graphing, or a good review, for anyone who needs it.
