In this one time class students will learn 10 amazing high frequency sight words from the fry's sight word lists for first and second grade. This class is great for students who need additional small group support to build fluency when reading. In this class students will gain the confidence to read independently, by learning the 10 sight words in many ways including echo reading, breakdown reading into isolation of the word and then putting that word into a basic sentence format. Students will improve their understanding of 10 high frequency sight words from first and second grade. 5 words from each grade band. Students will gain confidence and fluency in their reading of whole words and basic sentences using the sight words.
I am a fully certified Elementary Special Education Teacher. I got my degree from Western Michigan University in 2013. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary General Education and Special Education. I have been teaching now for 10 years and have 3 years of student teaching experience before that. I have taught third-fifth grade general education for two years. Then K-8 Special Education in a resource setting for 8 years. I have also taught online ESL for two years. I have a minor in English Language Arts and have lots of experience with teaching students how to read or get back on grade level with their reading skills.
Students can bring a pencil and paper to class.
