This 8-week course will engage students in discussion of four short stories, various writing styles, and various literary techniques. Students will have assigned reading to complete prior to each class (except first class). I will post the readings and homework for students to complete prior to the next session. Symbolism, flashback, conflict, mood, tone, etc.) -Explain major themes in each story -Describe the writing style of each author -Verbally articulate their opinions of the short stories -Analyze the figurative language used by an author through a written culminating assignment
