This course is part of my opening lecture in my college-level art history course. These locations are all covered in the scope of art history. In years of teaching, I have found having an introduction that covers cultures and locations from around the world opens students up to a global perspective. This list was created recently but includes things on four continents. Getting students to consider location, culture, reason, and importance of these places allows them to begin opening up to what makes art art.
