This class is designed for children who want to start learning Hindustani Classical Vocals. The curriculum starts with a focused regimen on "Alankars" which is essentially the alphabet and the core foundation of everything that follows. So it is absolutely necessary that the student has a good understanding of this before proceeding. The next step would be delving into "Raags" and "Taals" which is the main agenda here. In the process, various key classical concepts and terminology would be taught. Content will be shared via google drive so the students do not have to write anything on their end and can instead focus on listening and singing. As a coach, I will take the lead in repeating a phrase as many number of times as required so the students can feel comfortable joining in with me before singing by themselves. I would be encouraging each child to sing solo. Here's an example agenda: Week of April 1st: Alankars Week of April 7th: Raag Bhupali, Swar Malika Week of April 14th: Raag Bhupali, Bandish Week of April 21st: Intro to Teentaal Excited to start with you!

Greetings! My Name is Nisha Brijesh. I have been training in Hindustani classical vocals for over 15 years. I have performed Bollywood and Regional cover songs to private and public audiences of 1000+. I hold a Visharad degree in Hindustani Classical Vocals from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal (ABGMV) in Mumbai. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and have had a corporate career as a full time software professional at a reputable firm for nearly 20 years.
Since 2017, I have been engaged in teaching music to beginners of all ages. I teach Hindustani (Indian) Classical Vocals and Bollywood music virtually.
