Children have fun with Rozine's curriculum which includes seasonal pop art, cartooning, and graphic design. The subject of this drawing class is a Gingerbread House decorated with candy canes, gumdrops, and frosting—perfect for Winter Break. Students can create artwork to help decorate the home or office. Since 2005, Rozine taught cartooning classes to elementary-aged, inner-city children in Chicago and Los Angeles. She is the illustrator, author, and publisher of several all-age coloring activity books. She creates a relaxing atmosphere, encouraging connection amongst others, as well as confident self-expression.
Students will need either a sketchpad, or 5-10 sheets of drawing or printer paper (just in case). Pencils and erasers are a must. Coloring utensils can be crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers. Paint is fine, if student is familiar, but will not be taught during this class. A Sharpie marker is optional. Students can frame their artwork by stapling it to a larger sheet of colored construction paper (also optional).
