The scientific concepts students will learn include how and why matter moves, Newton's Laws of Motion, force, velocity, and momentum. Students will learn how to calculate distance, rate of speed, and the time it takes to travel a certain distance.

詳細: This class is part 1 of 2. 
Students will be introduced to matter and mass, Newton's Laws of Motion, and the mathematical formula D=rt (Distance = rate multiplied by time).  They will learn how easy it is to engineer a balloon powered car at home with everyday items. Adults may need to help students with sharp objects while constructing the balloon powered car. I will give a short lesson about the science behind motion then we can test the cars you built in the next class. Please Note: Paper airplanes will also work for this class.

詳細: The assessment will be based on completion of part 1 and part 2. This is an introduction / reinforcement to standardized science curriculum.

Students will see "How To" videos in class. Parents may do an internet search for balloon powered car directions. This is an easy project made with empty water bottles, household items and/or Legos.
