Science: Amphibians- Characteristics & Life Cycle CEFR A2-B2
What's included
1 live meeting
35 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
US Grade 1 - 3
In this one-time science class, junior scientists will learn about amphibian characteristics and the frog life cycle. Is that a frog or a toad? What's the difference between a salamander and a newt? Why can't axolotls live on land? We will begin with a short video about amphibians and their characteristics followed by a discussion of the frog life cycle. Students learn about amphibians and show what they are learning by completing the worksheet. If time allows, we will play a screen shared-online Taddypole game to help the newly hatched tadpole find food, escape from the fish and grow into a frog. The worksheet is included in the welcome message on the classroom page. Please print it and gather the supplies before class (pencil, glue, and scissors). I will have the worksheet displayed on the screen. Learners will cut and glue in class to complete the worksheet. NOTE: This class is one of my many weekly Springing Into Science is Fun! ongoing sessions held throughout the week. I teach a new science lesson each week and have enough lessons for the entire school year. If you are interested, I suggest you look at the class lesson descriptions and schedule. I will gladly start a new session with your learner if a better time and day works for you. Send me a message and we can talk about it.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about amphibians and complete a frog life cycle worksheet.

Hello! My name is Sharon, Teacher Sharon. I am both thankful and excited to have this opportunity to help children from all over the world have fun while learning. I love making learning fun!
I have my Masters of Education (MEd) and over 20 years of experience teaching and learning from children of all ages. I have experience as a nursery school director, a Kid's Club supervisor (twice) and a classroom teacher for Pre-K through high school. I have also taught technology, after-school elementary science classes, cupcake decorating, and brick building.
I am very fortunate to have grown up overseas and have lived all over the world. Some of my many passions include creating fun, educational classes, scuba diving, traveling, science, crafting, my precious dog, cat, fish and snails and of course teaching.
I like to keep class sizes small to help learners engage and participate. If your child is interested in any of my classes that are not currently scheduled, or if a different time or day would work better for you, please feel free to contact me.
Learning in my classroom is engaging, energetic, fun, enjoyable, upbeat and entertaining. "Your child won't want to leave at the end of class and will beg to come back for more." (That's my superhero catch phrase.)
NOTE: I am very flexible with class scheduling. If you are interested in one of my classes, but you don't see it listed on a day or time that you want, please find a class that is already listed when you want the class. Send me a message and I will do my best to switch the class that you want with the one that is already listed.
I look forward to helping your child have fun while learning. Have a wonderful day,
~Teacher Sharon🙂
