This class is a follow-up to our Developing Readers class, or for any student who reads well in Spanish and seeks consistent practice to improve reading and pronunciation fluency.

Each week, students will take turns reading a short story in Spanish only. The stories used are from Reading A-Z levels G, H, and I which corresponds to Lexile 340L-605L. Stories contain approximately 120-400 words per story.

With a maximum of 4 students, each student will have the opportunity to read at least two pages out loud. Throughout the class, the teacher will help guide students through the correct pronunciation, and in the end, the teacher will read the entire story. While this class does not focus on vocabulary, learners should be able to easily understand the stories through illustrations and familiar words. If time permits, students will discuss what the story is about and what some word means. However, this is not a vocabulary class.
