Part 1 Prerequisite: None Learning to read is the basic foundation to help language learners increase vocabulary to become fluent in the target language. This class is the first step to learning to read Spanish. Once learners know the names of the Spanish alphabet, they will already know the most important step in reading Spanish words. Each week on the selected day of the week at 8am Central Time, I will post a new pre-recorded video to view for instruction for that week. For the first 5 weeks, learners will be introduced to new common greetings and introductions in Spanish through song, then they will learn the names of 6 Spanish letters. During the last 3 weeks students will review what is learned. For the last week, learners have the option to send me a video of themselves saying the letters and phrases learned, and I will give feedback through video. Or we can schedule a brief live session to do so. Homework assignments will also be posted with a goal to complete one page per day. Assignments are to help learners practice what is introduced during the pre-recorded video sent for the week and are designed to be brief, simple, and engaging. Some assignments will involve playing games to practice what is learned. Here is the breakdown of the class: Week 1: Introduction, letters A-F Week 2: Greetings, letters G-L Week 3: Age, letters M-Q Week 4: Friends, letters R-W Week 5: Goodbye, letters X-Z and diagraphs Week 6: Review phrases and letters Week 7: Play Alphabet Game online Week 8: 1 on 1 Interview
