Looking for a fun way to practice reading comprehension skills this summer?  Strengthen reading comprehension skills while playing the games Don't Look Down, Fishtopia, Snowbrawl, Knockback, or Capture the Flag in Gimkit.  

Before we play, we will review a comprehension skill with a short mini-lesson.  Then I will share the GimKit link and class code, as well as explain how to play each game.  Students will answer questions about the skill in order to earn money that will aide them in playing the game.  We will play as many rounds of each game as time permits.  It is helpful if students have prior knowledge of making inferences and using context clues, as this will help them be successful in the games.

** I will rotate the comprehension skill each class so students are able to take the class multiple times without repeating content.**

My goal as a teacher is to make learning fun, relevant, and engaging for students!  It is important for students to make personal connections to content, so they can take ownership in their learning.  Knowing that children learn in many different ways, I incorporate a variety of learning strategies and activities to reach all learners.
