This is a private class with only one student enrolled at a time. The student will be reading to an axolotl. I will only step in and help the child during reading if they ask for help with a word. If the child would like, I will also read after they have finished their story and if there is still time in class. If the student prefers to continue reading instead of me reading a book, I will gladly honor their request as I would like them to read as much of the class time as possible. This is meant to be a fun and relaxing way to help readers feel no pressure. The student will need to bring the book of their choice to class to read to the axolotl. Disclosure, your child needs to be willing and able to read at least a simple picture book to take this class. It is for practicing reading, not teaching reading skills.

Hello. I teach a lot of classes about animals and I also teach some reading classes. All of my animal classes are taught about animals that I own.
I love to educate people about animals, animal abuse and neglect. Almost all of my animals come to me as rescues. I like to teach others how to properly care for animals so that the animals can live a long and happy life. Research isn't always reliable as you get different answers in different books and it can be hard to figure out what's best. I am always open to questions. If you are interested in getting a certain pet, just want to learn about different pets or have a pet and want to verify the care is correct, I welcome everyone. I have also trained service dogs and I currently own a trained service dog.
I have taught local classes about the needs of turtles and tortoises, and also community education Sign language classes.
I am a homeschool parent. I have been homeschooling for over 15 years. In our homeschool adventure we use a lot of books and research for learning. We do not use textbooks.
I also have 3 years of college completed. I studied teaching with an emphasis on special education.
