We will read a few Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems: Should I Share My Ice Cream?, Waiting is Not Easy!, and My Friend is Sad. As we read, we will discuss the life lessons being taught: sharing, waiting, and what to do when your friend is sad. If they want to, students will be encouraged to read along with me, working on fluency, using different voices for different characters and showing emotions in their reading. Parents will need to copy the papers for making Piggie and Gerald puppets. Other supplies needed are scissors, glue stick, and lunch sized paper bags.
